    History:

The Potomac Speedskating Club was founded in 2008 by parents and friends of short-track speedskating in order to create a development hub of future champion skaters in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. As a 501(c)3 private charitable organization, Potomac Speedskating Club is a friendly, supportive group of skaters, parents, officials, and fans of the sport. We are one of several training bases for three-time US National Champion Thomas Hong of Laurel, Maryland.

The Potomac Speedskating Club offers extensive training programs for beginners to elite short-track skaters from ages 5 to 95! We welcome all skills and abilities from novices to Masters and Special Olympians. Members currently train six times a week at three area rinks: the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, the Wheaton Ice Arena in Wheaton and the Cabin John Ice Rink in Rockville, Maryland. Potomac Speedskating Club skaters compete at local, regional and national championship events.
